Richard Kline interview ... Episode 5: "The Impossible Dream" On the eve of pop culture's historic Joyce DeWitt-Suzanne Somers peace summit, er, YouTube reunion following their legendary 31-year estrangement, "Three's Company" co-star Richard Kline -- TV's lovably libidinous Larry Dallas -- breaks his silence about their reconciliation and offers his insights into Suzanne's contentiou$ 1981 exit from their hit 1977-84 sitcom. The accomplished stage and screen actor/director/acting coach also reveals how he's coped with the loss of his dear friend, "Company" star John Ritter, who tragically passed away in 2003. As the breakthrough sitcom reaches its 35th anniversary this spring, Kline reveals his previous plans for a stage version of the wacky roommate farce and describes his experience as James Franco's special guest last year during the Oscar-nominated actor's bizzare Sundance presentation "Three's Company: The Drama." Finally, find out the hysterical comment Richard made to a PerezHilton.com story quoting Suzanne as saying that "everybody's gone from that show." Also, host and "Three's Company" tell-all author Chris Mann offers an exclusive, in-depth historical analysis of Suzanne and Joyce's separation -- including Joyce's repeated efforts to reconcile in the last 15 years -- as well as failed attempts at/missed opportunities for "Three's Company" reunions from the mid-'90s onward. You won't get this detailed backstory anywhere else, folks! Finally, our resident dream weaver Yvonne Ryba shares fascinating insights about inspirational dreams. - Great interview with Richard, Chris, and I knew that the reason he didn't watch "Three's Company" anymore had to do with John, as you could see how broke up he was about his passing when ABC aired the special about John's life after it happened in 2003. It was also great that Richard got through the BS that has been spread in the public between Suzanne and the media about the salary dispute, and how much John Ritter actually made on the show! Granted John wasn't getting a salary made for Carroll O'Connor (or his friend Larry Hagman from "Dallas"), but for all of the wonderful acting work he did on the show, he damn sure deserved it (and more!) Joyce, Suzanne, (and later Jenilee and Priscilla) were the ones that kept the show an ensemble, and when you added Richard, Norman Fell, Audra Lindley (and later Don Knotts) into the mix, well, you got perfection that stayed in the Top 10 for six of eight seasons on ABC, and endless reruns repeated since 1982! I wish Joyce and Suzanne the best with their reunion coming up, and I hope that the rest of the remaining cast can come together and share one more gathering to celebrate 35 years since "Three's Company" was born. Great work, my friend!
